The Lost Village Anime Gets Spinoff Novel

The official website for The Lost Village (Mayoiga) anime announced on Saturday that the series will get a novel with an original story. Tsukasa Tsuchiya (Steins;Gate 0) is writing the original story and Kei is providing the illustrations. The novel will ship on August 17.
The "tender, heartrending story" will focus on Lion and [Highlight white text to read spoilers for the television anime] the origin of her ability to foresee death. A second volume will focus on Koharun's past.
The 12-episode anime premiered on April 1 and streamed the series as it aired.
The anime staff launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise 3,330,000 yen (about US$29,500), and met its goal with a final total of 10,958,000 yen (about US$107,074) from 335 contributors.
Tsutomu Mizushima (Girls und Panzer, Shirobako, Prison School) directed the series at anime studio diomedéa (Kan Colle). Mari Okada (anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, The Anthem of the Heart, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) served as the series script supervisor, Naomi Ide (Kan Colle) designed the characters, and Mizushima personally directed the sound at Studio Mausu. Masaru Yokoyama (The Anthem of the Heart, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) composed the music at Pony Canyon.
