Norn9 Act Tune PS Vita Game's Opening Movie Features Theme Song

Nagi Yanagi sings "play of color" theme song for new work in otome game series

The official website for Otomate's Norn9 Norn + Nonette Act Tune otome visual novel began streaming the game's opening movie on Thursday. The video features the game's opening theme song "play of color" by Nagi Yanagi.

The game is a new work in the Norn9 visual novel series, and it will feature three modes. The "Memoria" mode will tell untold stories that happened during the main plot of the Norn9 Norn+Nonette PlayStation Portable visual novel. The "Legend of NORN" mode is a "parallel" story that takes place in a world where swords and magic exist. In the story, Sorata is kidnapped by a dragon and 12 young men undertake a journey to save him at the King's request. The game's third "Cantabile" mode features a story where the three heroines' bodies have suddenly become very small. The heroines go into the World of Dreams to find a solution, but they get stuck in the fairy-tale world. The heroines must each clear a trial in order to return to normal.

Kaori Oda will perform the game's ending theme song "Hoshi wo Tsunaide" (Connecting the Stars).

The game is slated to ship this year, and will retail for 6,804 yen (about US$64) for the standard edition; 8,964 yen (US$84) for the limited edition; and 6,264 yen (US$59) for the download edition.

In the original game, the player can choose between three different girls as the heroine, each with their own three male characters to romance. The game starts when a certain song transports a boy named Sorata Suzuhara to a different era and place. When Sorata regains consciousness, he finds himself standing in an unfamiliar place — an old town, awash with sepia tones. The scene is exactly like the Meiji and Taishō-era pictures he had seen in textbooks. He encounters three girls and nine young men in this world, and embarks on a journey in the skies with them and the giant Norn airship.

The original game debuted on the PSP in 2013. The game was ported to the PS Vita under the title Norn9 Var Commons in December 2014, and on iOS and Android devices last December. The Norn9 Norn + Nonette Last Era game shipped on the PS Vita in April 2015. Aksys Games released the Norn9 Var Commons version of the game in North America on November 3.

A 12-episode television anime adaptation titled Norn9: Norn + Nonette premiered on January 7. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America, and the series streamed on The Anime Network and Hulu as it aired in Japan.
