This year's 24th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will announce two more cast members on Monday for the television anime adaptation of Shūichi Asō's Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan manga. Ai Kayano will play Kokomi Teruhashi and Yukari Tamura will play Chiyo Yumehara.
The issue will also reveal the anime character designs for the previously announced cast and for Kayano and Tamura's characters.
The anime will premiere in July as a "double broadcast," running in the morning on the Oha-Suta ("Good Morning Star") program on TV Tokyo and at night on TV Tokyo and other channels.
Previously announced cast includes:
- Hiroshi Kamiya as the protagonist Kusuo Saiki
- Mitsuo Iwata as Kuniharu Saiki
- Rikako Aikawa as Kurumi Saiki
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shun Kaidō
- Daisuke Ono will play Riki Nendō
Hiroaki Sakurai (Di Gi Charat, Maid Sama!) will direct the anime, and Michiko Yokote (Shirobako, Kyōkai no Rinne) is in charge of series composition. Masayuki Onji (Kimi to Boku., Aoi Hana) is in charge of character design.
The manga centers on a high school boy named Kusuo Saiki. He possesses supernatural powers that cause unfortunate events in his everyday life.
Asō launched the manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012 after drawing one-shot versions of the story in Weekly Shonen Jump and Jump Next! magazines in 2011. Shueisha published the 17th compiled volume of the manga in Japan on April 4.
The series was previously adapted into an online Flash anime series that debuted in August 2013. A live-action film adaptation was announced last year, but the film has yet to be released.
