Medabots DS/3DS Game Studio Delta Arts Shuts Down

Also developed DS games for Thomas the Steam Engine, Rilakkuma, Mini 4WD

Delta Arts, the studio behind many of the recent Medabots (Medarot) games since 2010, announced that it ceased all operations at the end of April. The studio did not give the reason for its shutdown or the circumstances that led to it.

The studio worked on the main numbered games and other titles in the Medabots/Medarot franchise from Medarot DS (May 2010) to Medarot 9 for the Nintendo 3DS (December 2015). It also developed two Thomas the Steam Engine games, a Rilakkuma game, and a Mini 4WD game for the Nintendo DS. Delta Arts did not develop Rocket Company's new Medabots: Girls Mission (Medarot: Girls Mission) games which shipped in Japan in March.

The first Medabots (Medarot) game, which was created before Delta Arts' involvement in the franchise, inspired a television anime series by Bee Train in 1999, and a sequel series titled Medarot Damashii (Medabots Spirits) in 2000. ADV licensed the series in North America, and Nelvana produced a dub for the first series, which aired in the Fox Kids network in 2001, before moving to ABC Family. Medabots Spirits aired on ABC Family in 2003.
