Cardfight!! Vanguard Link Joker Gets Stage Musical in 2017

The official Twitter account for the stage play adaptation of Bushiroad's Cardfight!! Vanguard trading card game and anime announced on Saturday that Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker, the third season of the Cardfight!! Vanguard television anime series, will receive a stage musical adaptation in spring 2017. The musical will be titled Cardfight!! Vanguard ~Virtual Stage~ Link Joker Hen. Nelke Planning is again producing the play.
The first character visual for the musical features (from left to right above): Shūta Morishima as Shin Nitta, Shunya Ōhira as Aichi Sendō, Kento as Toshiki Kai, and Suzuko Mimori as Kōrin Tatsunagi. All four are reprising their roles from the first Cardfight!! Vanguard ~Virtual Stage~ stage play.
The Link Joker Arc premiered in January 2013. The story is set several months after the events of the second season, Cardfight!! Vanguard: Asia Circuit Hen. The main character, Vanguard card game player Aichi Sendō, is now about to enter high school. He enrolls in the elite Miyaji Academy, but unfortunately, his rivals-turned-friends Katsumi and Yūta are going to a different school.
While his first days at high school are lonely, Aichi gets some advice from his friends Toshiki and Taishi at the Card Capital shop. To make the most of high school, Aichi forms a Cardfight club for Vanguard players. He makes new friends (as well as new rivals), and he juggles card-playing with sports meets, cultural festivals, tests, summer vacation, and everything else that high school has to offer. However, a mysterious phenomenon known as "reverse" that causes Vanguard players to lose their souls threatens his new high school life.
The first Cardfight!! Vanguard ~Virtual Stage~ stage play ran from January 5 to 11 in Tokyo. The play's story was based on the first season of the Cardfight!! Vanguard television anime series.
The Cardfight!! Vanguard G Stride Gate-hen television anime is the latest season of the anime based on Bushiroad's Cardfight!! Vanguard trading card game. The series premiered on April 17.
