Regional anime channel Animax Asia began streaming a commercial on Monday for its airing of the first season of the Nisekoi television anime. The commercial reveals that the anime will premiere on May 5 at 7:00 p.m. in Jakarta and Bangkok, and 8:00 p.m. in Singapore and the Philippines. The anime will air on the same time slot every Wednesday and Thursday, and the channel will begin airing the second season immediately after the first season's airing concludes.
Nisekoi revolves around Raku Ichijō (Kōki Uchiyama), a normal high school student who happens to be the heir to a yakuza group. The attractive but violent transfer student Chitoge Kirisaki (Nao Tōyama), the heir to a rival yakuza group, transfers to his class, and the two must pretend to date to keep a war from breaking out between their families.
The 20-episode series premiered in Japan in January 2014.
Original creator Naoshi Komi drew the original "Nisekoi" one-shot manga in early 2011, and turned it into a manga series in November of the same year. Shueisha shipped the manga's 22nd compiled book volume on April 4. The second television anime adaptation, titled Nisekoi:, premiered in April 2015 with 12 episodes.
