Bandai Namco Entertainment America began streaming a story trailer for the God Eater: Resurrection game on Friday. The video reveals that the game will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America on June 28. A release for Windows PC via Steam will follow on August 30, the same day the game will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Europe.
The video also reveals that the God Eater 2: Rage Burst game will ship for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC via Steam in North America on August 30. The game's Day One Edition for the PlayStation 4 in North America will include a download of God Eater: Resurrection as well as costumes inspired by characters from Sword Art Online, Tales of Zestiria, and Tokyo Ghoul. The costumes will be available as part of a pre-order promotion in Europe, and the release of God Eater 2: Rage Burst will include God Eater: Resurrection.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America posted the God Eater Prologue original video anime with English subtitles in February to promote its release of God Eater: Resurrection. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced in December that it will release God Eater: Resurrection and God Eater 2: Rage Burst in North America and Europe.
God Eater: Resurrection shipped for PS4 and PS Vita in Japan on October 29. It is an updated version of the 2010 PSP game God Eater Burst, which is itself an update of the original God Eater game. The game improves graphics and event scenes for the newer hardware, and it also adds an epilogue that bridges the story with God Eater 2.
God Eater Burst shipped in North America and Europe in 2011. The sequel, God Eater 2: Rage Burst, shipped for PS4 and PS Vita in Japan on February 19.
The God Eater television anime premiered on July 8, and Aniplex of America streamed the first nine episodes on Daisuki and then on Crunchyroll. The ninth episode ended in September with an announcement that the final four episodes were "coming this winter." The Meteorite arc, which includes episodes 10-13, aired in March, and Daisuki and Crunchyroll are streaming the episodes.
