This year's 18th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Asian Kung-Fu Generation will perform the new opening theme song for the Naruto Shippūden television anime series starting in May. The new theme song is titled "Blood Circulator."
Asian Kung-Fu Generation previously performed the second opening theme song "Haruka Kanata" for the Naruto television anime series, and the ending theme song for the Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie film. The group has also performed theme songs for Bleach, ERASED, Fullmetal Alchemist, The Tatami Galaxy, and Tekkonkinkreet.
Music duo Sukima Switch are currently performing the current opening theme song "LINE." Kuroneko Chelsea's new ending theme song "Ao no Lullaby" (Blue Lullaby) will premiere in the series in April.
The anime started its airing of the Naruto Shippūden: Itachi Shinden-hen: Hikari to Yami arc on March 3. The arc adapts Takashi Yano's two-volume Naruto spinoff novels Itachi Shinden, which tell the story of Itachi before the start of the manga.
