Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Video Shows Off Adventure Mode
posted on by Karen Ressler
Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming an introduction video for its Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 game, hosted by CyberConnect2's CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, on Wednesday.
In the video, Matsuyama explains the new third mode, adventure mode, which allows players to freely explore Konoha and Suna villages and perform missions. Meeting characters will trigger events, and the mode will include multiple conversation scenes with other characters. The events take place after the climactic battle of the series and before The Last -Naruto the Movie-.
The game's online mode will allow players to match up against each other, and will also have limited time events that every player can participate in.
Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 features the largest number of fighters in the series history. That roster includes characters from the fight between Hashirama and Madara, as well as characters from The Last -Naruto the Movie-. The game also recreates the Shinobi World War.
Those who buy the game in Japan on its initial release (or pre-order the game in America and Europe) will receive Boruto and Sarada — the stars of Boruto -Naruto the Movie- — as playable characters. In addition to Boruto and Sarada, the initial release also includes Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Hinata as they appear in The Last -Naruto the Movie-, and a different version of Naruto and Sasuke as they appear in Boruto -Naruto the Movie- as playable characters, as well as a costume for Kakashi. Other characters such as the Sound Four are available via DLC packs.
Bandai Namco Entertainment released the game in Japan on Thursday and in Europe on Friday, and it will release the game in North America on February 9. In Japan the game is available on PlayStation 4, while in the West it is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe is offering a collector's edition of the PS4 and Xbox One versions with an artbook, a 17 cm Naruto figure, a collector's box, a metal plate, and a "FuturePack."
