Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday that it has licensed the anime Strawberry Marshmallow. The company plans to release the series on home video with both English-dubbed and English-subtitled tracks.
The 2005 television series — as well as the 2007 and 2009 OVAs — adapted Barasui's slice-of-life manga in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine. The story deals with everyday vignettes in the lives of high school freshman Nobue, her 12-year-old younger sister Chika, and their friends.
Geneon Entertainment previously released the anime series in North America. Tokyopop released part of the original manga before closing its North American manga publishing division in 2011.
