posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official website of the television anime adaptation of Nozomi Uda's Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge (Tanaka is Always Listless) manga began streaming a teaser promotional video for the anime on Thursday. The video reveals the anime's April premiere on Tokyo MX and MBS.
The website also revealed the anime's main staff. Shinya Kawatsura (.hack//GIFT, Kokoro Connect, Non Non Biyori) will direct the anime at SILVER LINK, and Akemi Omode (Getbackers, Kyo kara Maoh!, Tales of the Abyss) will oversee the scripts. Haruko Iizuka (Umi Monogatari, Ōkami-san & Her Seven Companions, Little Busters!) will design the characters for animation, while Kusanagi will provide the art direction. Hiromi Mizutani (Sunday Without God, Non Non Biyori, Shomin Sample) will compose the music.
The youth comedy manga follows the ever-listless Tanaka and his taciturn classmate Ōta, who can't leave Tanaka alone.
Uda launched the series on the Gangan Online website in 2013, and Uda published the manga's 55th chapter on November 12. Square Enix published the manga's fifth compiled volume on November 21, and the company also published the "volume 5.5" official fanbook on the same day. The manga has more than 1 million copies in print.
