Kazune Kawahara's Aozora Yell Manga Gets Live-Action Film in August

Kazune Kawahara's Aozora Yell (Yell for the Blue Sky) manga will get a live-action film adaptation from TOHO Pictures. The film will open in Japan in August 2016. Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine will release more details on January 13.
The story of the manga centers on Tsubasa, a girl who saw an inspirational brass band performance at the finals of the Japanese high school baseball championships one summer. Tsubasa vows to join the band when she enters high school, and she happens to meet a certain boy there.
Kawahara launched Aozora Yell in 2008 and ended it this past October. Shueisha will ship the 19th and final compiled volume on January 25. The manga has more than 2.5 million copies in print.
The series appeared in a music video for the song "you can do it!" by rookie singer-songwriter Suzu last year. Aozora Yell also had an eight-page crossover manga with Karuho Shiina's Kimi ni Todoke manga in 2013.
Viz Media released Kawahara's High School Debut in North America, and began releasing Kawahara and Aruko's Ore Monogatari!! under the title My Love Story!! in 2014. A television anime adaptation of My Love Story!! debuted this past April.
