This year's 42nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that the band Galileo Galilei will perform the ending theme song "Climber" for the Haikyu!! Second Season anime.
Galileo Galilei is a three-person rock band who formed in Hokkaido in 2007, and made their debut on a major label in February 2010 with the mini album Hamanasu no Hana. The group has performed theme songs for anohana (the anime and the live-action special), Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, Taifū no Noruda, Magic Kaito 1412, and Big Windup! Season 2.
SPYAIR will return to perform the television anime's opening theme song "I'm a Believer." SPYAIR performed the opening theme song "Imagination" for the first half of the anime's first season.
The anime's second season will premiere in Japan on October 3. Sumire Morohoshi will join the second season's cast as Hitoka Yachi, one of the managers of Karasuno High's volleyball club. Additionally, Ryōhei Kimura and Ryota Ohsaka are also joining the anime's cast. Kimura will play Kōtarō Bokuto, and Ohsaka will voice Keiji Akaashi.
The first season of the anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate's volleyball manga premiered in April 2014. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American digital and home video release, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
The anime franchise is getting two compilation films on July 3 and September 18, and a stage play adaptation will open in mid-November in Tokyo before traveling to Osaka and Tagajo.
