HaruChika Mystery Novel Series Gets Manga Adaptation
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The October issue of Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine announced on August 26 that Sei Hatsuno's HaruChika "wind instrument youth mystery" novel series is inspiring a manga adaptation in the magazine. The November issue of Shōnen Ace will reveal more details about the manga.
The original novels revolve around two high school students named Haruta and Chika, who are members of a wind instrument club that is on the verge of being shut down. The two are childhood friends, and they spend their days practicing hard while also trying to recruit new members. When a certain incident happens within their school, they work together to solve it.
Hatsuno released the first novel in the series in 2008, and Kadokawa published the fourth novel in 2012. Kadokawa plans to release a new novel titled Wakusei Karon (Planet Karon) in the end of September.
P.A. Works (Shirobako, Tari Tari, Angel Beats!) is adapting the novels into a television anime series that will premiere in January.
