The official website previously streamed the game's first promotional video in May, and the second promotional video in July.
The setting of the game will be Mikado City, centering on the headquarters of Border. Players can form teams with friends and choose between "countless" strategies based on the team composition and usable triggers for "unlimited" possibilities. Attackers, Shooters, Gunners, and Snipers are available for teams. Up to eight players can team up via the PS Vita's ad-hoc mode to play the game cooperatively, or to fight each other in teams.
The game is slated for release on September 17, and will cost 5,690 yen (around US$45.70).
Daisuke Ashihara's World Trigger manga debuted in 2013's 11th issue of Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Viz Media added the series to its digital anthology version of Weekly Shonen Jump, and it describes the series as follows:
A gate to another dimension has burst open, and from it emerge gigantic invincible creatures that threaten all of humanity. Earth's only defense is a mysterious group of warriors who have co-opted the alien technology in order to fight back!
The World Trigger television anime from Toei Animation premiered last year on October 5 at 6:30 a.m. on the TV Asahi station and its affiliates. Toei Animation premiered three English dub episodes at Anime Expo. Toei Animation itself commissioned the English dub of the first six to seven episodes, but the company has not made plans to screen the dub, including the episodes after episode 3, in other venues after Anime Expo. Toei Animation US previously streamed the English dub's trailer on August 19. The manga will get a new anime series in October, with a tentative title of Isekai Kara no Tōbōsha (Fugitives From Another World).
