Arslan: The Warriors of Legend Game Adds Alfried, Kishward

Manami Numakura, Hiroki Yasumoto reprise roles as Alfried, Kishward from anime

This week's issue of Kadokawa's Weekly Famitsu magazine is running a preview of Koei Tecmo Games' upcoming Arslan: The Warriors of Legend (Arslan Senki x Musou) PS3/PS4/Xbox One action game on Thursday. The preview reveals that Alfried and Kishward will be playable characters in the game. Manami Numakura and Hiroki Yasumoto will reprise their roles from the anime series as Alfried and Kishward, respectively.

The preview will also detail game mechanics such as weapon changing and skill cards.

Other confirmed playable characters so far include Arslan, Daryun, Narsus, Elam, Gieve, and Falangies.

Koei Tecmo Games announced last Thursday that it will release the game in North America and Europe for the PS3, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will be available in Europe as physical releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on PlayStation 3 digitally.

Koei Tecmo Games and Omega Force are developing the Warriors-style game based on Hiromu Arakawa and Yoshiki Tanaka's The Heroic Legend of Arslan manga. Players will be able to reenact scenes from the manga in the game. The game's story will start with the battle of Atropatene.

The game's Mardān Rush feature will allow players to lead a troop of soldiers and deliver heavy damage to the enemy army. Players will be able to control cavalry, archers, or infantry to utilize each group's special abilities. The feature will allow players to overcome obstacles, attack distant opponents, and rescue allies in strategic gameplay.

The game was originally slated to ship in Japan on September 17, but it has been delayed until October 1. No Xbox One release has been announced in Japan.

The game's regular edition will retail in Japan for 7,800 yen (about US$63), and the download edition will retail for 6,762 yen (US$54). Koei Tecmo Games will also release a "Treasure Box" edition of the game that will come with the following: an original soundtrack CD, an "Official Settings Documents Collection," a crystal frame stand, and a cleaner cloth. The Treasure Box edition retails for 12,800 yen (US$103). Pre-orders for the game started on June 11. The download version of the game will retail for 6,762 yen (about US$54).
