Devil's Third's PC Version & Wii U Release Date in Americas Revealed

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Multiplayer-only free-to-play PC version slated for September

Valhalla Game Studios announced on Monday that the Devil's Third game will debut in the Americas on Wii U in the fourth quarter of 2015. Nintendo will publish the game. The game is also slated for an August 4 release in Japan, and an August 28 release in Europe.

The announcement also noted that Valhalla is developing a version of the game for the PC tentatively titled Devil's Third Online, which is slated for September. The game will be a free-to-play online exclusive game, and will not include the story mode content in the Wii U version of the game. The content of Devil's Third Online is also "being optimized via co-development with local publishes."

The announcement describes the Wii U game:

The game's single player mode offers a unique blend of action gameplay and will immerse players in an engrossing storyline set against a background of intrigue and global military conflict. In parallel, its multiplayer mode offers an exciting and deeply tactical gameplay experience where tens of thousands of players can create their own clans and fight over territories across North America.

Valhalla Game Studios was founded by Dead or Alive's Tomonobu Itagaki in 2009. The developer originally announced Devil's Third in 2010. THQ was originally slated to publish the game as a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 exclusive, but dropped the game due to the publisher's closure in 2013. Valhalla CEO Satoshi Kanematsu announced in 2012 that the company plans to "work with other various forms of media, including manga, novels, animation and film" for Devil's Third.
