Kodansha's Monthly Fairy Tail Magazine Ends Publication
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Kodansha published the 13th and last issue of Monthly Fairy Tail Magazine on Friday.
Fairy Tail manga creator Hiro Mashima and Kodansha launched the magazine exactly one year ago on July 17, 2014. Each issue of the magazine included a DVD with four episodes of the Fairy Tail TV anime.
The magazine launched with two spinoff manga. Mashima drew the prequel Fairy Tail Zero manga, which tells the story of the founders of the Fairy Tail guild. Yūsuke Shirato drew the Tale of Fairy Tail: Ice Trail manga, which centers around the boyhood of the character Gray, following him until he joined the Fairy Tail guild. Both manga ended in the magazine's 13th issue.
Kodansha Comics publishes the main Fairy Tail manga in North America, and Crunchyroll is releasing new chapters online as they come out in Japan.
