The official website for the Gangsta. television anime is listing six Blu-ray and DVD releases, the first of which has two episodes and English subtitles. The individual releases will be followed by a Blu-ray box set.
Japanese distributor Presepe's listing states that each of the six releases will contain two episodes, and the Blu-ray box will contain all 12 episodes and English subtitles.
The first individual volume will ship September 25, with a new volume released each month. The Blu-ray box will ship on February 24, 2016. The first Blu-ray and DVD will come with a cover jacket and manga by original artist Kohske.
The anime premiered in Japan on July 1. Funimation is streaming the series in North America.
Kohske's original Gangsta. manga revolves around Nick (played by Kenjirō Tsuda) and Worick (Junichi Suwabe), two men who take on jobs from both the mafia and the police in the town of Ergastulum, a rotten town filled with mafia, hoodlums, prostitutes, and dirty cops.
Shukou Murase (Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic, Genocidal Organ) is directing the anime at Manglobe (The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke, Hayate the Combat Butler! Cuties). Viz publishes the manga in North America.
