Mobile Game Developer Cygames Starts Working on Console Games

Rage of Bahamut creator opens new studio in Osaka

The official website for game developer Cygames announced on Tuesday that it has opened a new Osaka-based studio that will work on console games. The studio will focus on developing high-end games for Sony PlayStation 4 and is currently recruiting employees.

Cygames has developed mobile games such as Rage of Bahamut (Shingeki no Bahamut), The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Princess Connect!, Tiger & Bunny: Road of Hero, and Sengoku Saga. Rage of Bahamut inspired a 13-episode TV anime titled Rage of Bahamut Genesisthat premiered last October, and a TV anime adapting The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls premiered in January.

Cygames announced in March it plans to establish its own anime production division.
