The Japanese edition of DeNA's free Manga Box smartphone and tablet app launched Akira Miyagawa's remake of Takao Saitō's 1976 Survival manga, titled Survival ~S Shōnen no Kiroku (Survival ~S Boy's Records), on Thursday. The manga is not currently listed on the English version of the app.
MangaBox describes the series:
Could you survive in the wilderness that has lost all civilization? A huge earthquake occurs while Satoru and his friends are exploring a cave. After somehow making it to the surface, Satoru is shocked by the scene that lays before his eyes. From that day on, the lonely battle for survival begins!
Saito's (Golgo 13) original 22-volume Survival manga ran in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1976 to 1978. JManga had published the manga's first volume in English in 2011.
Miyagawa will also launch a remake of Shōtarō Ishinomori's Baiyaku Kakebachō Kazuryū (Register of Clients of a Medicine Seller: Kazuryū) manga in Comic Ran magazine's July issue on May 27. He previously drew the three-volume manga adaptation of the Appleseed XIII anime project from 2011-2013. Before that he drew the two-volume 018 manga in 2010-2011.
