New Gurren Lagann Manga Launches in Hero's Magazine

The May issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Hero's magazine revealed on April 1 that the magazine will launch a new Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann manga in the July issue on June 1. The new manga is titled Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Otoko-gumi dayo! Hen (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: We're Team Men!).
Otoko-gumi dayo! Hen is the third and final work in the Otoko spinoff drama CD series of the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann franchise. In the manga and CD drama, Kamina and Simon's hearts are drifting farther apart because of the mystery surrounding the sold-out yakisoba bread at the store at the Dai-Gurren Academy. A small tear in their bonds will before long blow up into a huge issue.
The tagline on the announcement for the manga reads, "Brother, we're siblings aren't we?"
Saki Nonoyama has already adapted the other two Otoko drama CD stories into manga. Nonoyama launched the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Otoko Ippiki-hen (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Lone Man) manga in Monthly Hero's in August 2013. The story takes the cast of Gainax's robot anime and puts them in modern-day Japan. The series follows the adventures of Kamina and other characters who attend Dai-Gurren Academy.
Nonoyama then launched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Otoko Doahō!-hen (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Total Idiot Man!) in December 2013 and ended the series in the May issue of on April 1. The manga re-imagines the characters of the anime as baseball players at Dai-Gurren Academy, and they meet a mysterious old man over a bowl of ramen with roast pork.
Manga creator Kotarō Mori's manga adaptation of the original television series ended in May 2013. Mori launched the manga in MediaWorks' Monthly Dengeki Comic GAO! magazine in April 2007, and the series was later moved to the publisher's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine in 2008. Bandai Entertainment released six volumes of the series in North America before the company stopped producing and distributing new DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and manga releases in January 2012.
Previous manga inspired by the anime include the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Guren Gakuenhen school manga and the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Rasen Shōnen-tan (Spiral Boy) manga that takes place in a parallel world. Both manga were republished as single-volume compiled book releases.
Gainax's Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann television anime premiered in Japan in 2007. Aniplex USA released the Japanese Blu-ray Disc box set in the United States and Canada in 2013. The box set included all three drama CDs in the Otoko series.
