posted on by Egan Loo
Yūto Kubota is ending the Sporting Salt manga in this year's 10th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on Monday. Shueisha will publish the second compiled book volume in April, followed by the third one with exclusive added material in June.
The story of Sporting Salt centers on Hiroyuki Shioya, a high school student who is fanatic about sports medicine. After deciding he is destined to become the best sports medicine doctor in all of Japan, he latches on to athletes in trouble to help analyze their issues and better their performance.
Sporting Salt launched in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 22. It also debuted in Viz Media's Shonen Jump as part of the "Jump Start" initiative on the same date.
Viz Media had announced that it will launch a "Jump Start" initiative on September 8. Under this initiative, Viz's digital English anthology Weekly Shonen Jump will run the first three chapters of "almost every single" new series that debuts in Shueisha's original Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan.
