Early Anime Site 'Anime Web Turnpike' Goes Offline
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Jay Fubler Harvey and Ron Scovil's classic anime site directory, Anime Web Turnpike, went offline Friday after almost 20 years. The site first opened in 1996 as a collection of links to anime-related websites, later adding news and editorial columns.
Harvey retired from managing the site in 2002, and new owner Ron Scovil took over from that time. The Turnpike once hosted 50,000 links in its database.
