This year's 24th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Michiteru Kusaba's soccer manga Fantasista Stella (Playmaker Star in Italian) will bundle an original video anime (OVA) on DVD.
Fantasista Stella is the sequel to the original Fantasista manga. The first manga followed a boy named Teppei Sakamoto as he strived for greatness on his high school soccer team. Fantasista Stella picks up the story when Teppei and teammate Keisuke Honda aim for the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil this summer.
Kusaba seriazlized the first Fantasista manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1999 to 2004, and Shogakukan published 25 compiled volumes. Fantasista Stella resumed the story in the same magazine in 2012, and Shogakukan published the sixth volume in March.
