R-Type Arcade Shooter Games Get Remastered PS3 Version on May 20

R-Type Dimensions to feature new HD 3D graphics, slow-motion button, Infinite & Co-Op modes

The official PlayStation Blog announced on Wednesday that R-Type Dimensions, a PlayStation 3 remastered compilation of the R-Type and R-Type II arcade shooter games, will be available on the PlayStation Network on May 20.

R-Type Dimensions will feature R-Type's eight levels and R-Type II's six levels for gameplay exactly like the coin-op version. In addition, the game features both the original 2D graphics and new high-definition 3D graphics. Players can switch between the graphic styles during play with a push of a button. Game modes include an Infinite Mode that will allow players to practice and play any level, and a Co-Op Mode for two people. Players can also alter the game experience with a slow-motion button and can configure the controller to their own personal preferences.

The game will be available on the PlayStation Network on May 20 for US$9.99.
