7th KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple Video Anime's Promo Video, Cast Unveiled

On Wednesday, Shogakukan began streaming a 10-minute preview for the two-part original video anime (OVA) that will be bundled with the 56th volume of Shun Matsuena's Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi (KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple) manga.
In the preview, Kenichi and his companions visit the snowy mountains, where he clashes with the King of Tidat, Jihan. The volume also includes a bonus anime, "Shaamu no Akiba Tanbo" ("Shaamu's Akiba Tour"), as well as the clean opening and ending anime sequences and a trailer.
The new DVD will star:

- Yuzuru Fujimoto as Hayato Fūrinji
- Juurouta Kosugi as Akisame Koetsuji
- Unshou Ishizuka as Shio Sakaki
- Issei Futamata as Kensei Ma
- Hiroya Ishimaru as Apachai Hopachai
- Mamiko Noto as Shigure Kosaka
- Shinpachi Tsuji, as Junazaado
- Ryōtarō Okiayu as Jihan
- Haruna Ikezawa as Shaamu
- Masashi Sugawara as Boris
Hiroshi Ishiodori is once again directing the project at Brains Base, and Eizō Kobayashi wrote the scripts. Keiji Inai scored the music. Shogakukan will ship the limited edition bundle in Japan on May 16.
The OVA series began airing on the Tokyo MX TV network on April 9 at 1:00 a.m.
Six original video anime volumes (with a collected nine episodes) were previously bundled with manga volumes since 2012. The sixth original video anime volume (with episodes 8 and 9 plus a bonus anime) shipped with the 55th manga volume on February 14. The manga already inspired a television anime series that Funimation released in North America.
