Wataru Uekusa Directs Video for Japanese Band A Crow Is White

Space Shower Music began streaming a music video last Wednesday for Japanese band A Crow is White's "fake!fake!" song. Animator Wataru Uekusa directed the video.
The song will be featured on A Crow is White's second album Onsoku Merry-Go-Round (Merry-Go-Round at the Speed of Sound), which goes on sale on June 4.
Uekusa not only directed the video, but also worked on the animation and backgrounds. Other animators included Taiki Inaba, Ryōsuke Ōshiro, Mizuki Okunaka, and Hiroshi Sakai. Sakai and "40" also worked on the backgrounds.
Uekusa's anime short "Mukōgaoka Chiri wa Tada Mitsumeteita no Datta -Chisato stared-" was nominated for the 2009 YouTube Video Awards Japan. The Creator's World exhibit at Tokyo Anime Fair 2010 hosted a booth showcasing his work.
Uekusa's "Yasashii March" anime short won the Grand Prix competition at the 7th Kichijoji Animation Film Festival in 2011. Uekusa created the piece as an animation student at the Tokyo University of the Arts graduate school in Yokohama. "Yasashii March" also won the Animation Award at the 23rd CG Anime Contest in 2011.
