Kantai Collection Black Order Manga to Launch in ComicWalker
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Japanese publisher Kadokawa's ComicWalker website announced on Friday that it will add the tentatively titled Kantai Collection Black Order manga by Ōto Taguchi (Mobile Suit Gundam 00 manga). The manga has only been announced for the Japanese version of ComicWalker with no official start date. The website teases that the comic will be a little different from previous Kantai Collection manga series.
Kadokawa Games launched the original Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- free-to-play browser game with the service provider DMM.com last April. In the game, players compete with cards featuring female moe characters inspired by Japanese World War II warships such as aircraft carriers, battleships, and cruisers. Players build, organize, and repair their anthropomorphized fleet to progress through maps.
A separate manga titled Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- Tomarigi no Chinjufu starring Heavy Cruisers Kumano and Suzuya by Hiroichi will launch in the July issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh on May 27.
Previous manga adaptations of Kadokawa Games' moe-character card battle game include a series by Sakae Saitō and a four-panel series by Ryota Momoi, published in Comic Alive and the Famitsu Comic Clear online magazine, respectively. An anime adaptation has been green-lit and is slated for summer.
