Anime Limited Launches Patema Inverted Kickstarter for U.K. Release

British distributor Anime Limited will launch a Kickstarter campaign for the home video release of Yasuhiro Yoshiura's (Time of Eve, Pale Cocoon) Patema Inverted (Sakasama no Patema) anime film. The company will ship the campaign's rewards to the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
The campaign will go live on May 2, the same day the film opens in select theaters in the United Kingdom. The company is planning a standard, collector's, and ultimate edition of the film on Blu-ray and DVD, with art book, postcards and other goods. The campaign is aiming to raise £16,000 (about US$26,898).
Patema Inverted premiered at France's Annecy animation festival in June 2013, and it won the Judge's Award and the Audience Award at Edinburgh's Scotland Loves Animation festival last fall. It premiered in North America at the New York International Children's Festival in March. GKIDS plans to release the film to more of North America this year or later.
Anime Limited previously funded a British and American release of Sunao Katabuchi and MADHOUSE's Mai Mai Miracle anime film.
