The first volume of Hikaru Suruga and Gan Sunaaku's Attack on Titan: No Regrets (Shingeki no Kyojin Gaiden: Kuinaki Sentaku) spinoff manga has over 500,000 copies in print after getting a reprint. The 13th volume of Hajime Isayama's main Attack on Titan manga shipped on the same day (April 9) as Attack on Titan: No Regrets #1, and it had a print run of 2.75 million. However, it is uncommon for a spinoff to get 500,000 copies.
Attack on Titan: No Regrets depicts the past of the popular characer Levi. Kodansha's decision to authorize reprint of the first volume came on the same day that the volume shipped. The volume sold 140,186 copies in its first five days.
The manga runs in the monthly magazine Aria, and the manga's prologue caused the magazine's November 2013 issue to sell out in one week. The prologue ran again in the December 2013 issue, and the actual launch of the manga caused the January 2014 issue to also sell out. Kodansha then increased the circulation of the magazine ten-fold for the February 2014 issue. The June 2014 issue will ship on April 28 with a B2-size poster of Levi.
