My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Anime Gets 2nd Season
posted on by Samuel Wolfs
A poster for Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint is announcing that production on a second anime season based on Wataru Watari's Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) light novel series has been green-lit. The May issue of Shogakukan's Sunday GX magazine is also announcing the news on Saturday.
Shogakukan had hinted earlier this week that an important announcement would be made on Friday for the series during its niconico live program "Monthly Gagaga Channel." Watari will make an appearance as a guest. The poster is for the ninth volume of the series, which is scheduled to also be released on Friday.
The romantic comedy revolves around an antisocial high school student named Hachiman Hikigaya with a distorted view on life and no friends or girlfriend. When he sees his classmates talking excitedly about living their adolescent lives, he mutters, "They're a bunch of liars." When he is asked about his future dreams, he responds, "Not working." A teacher gets Hachiman to join the volunteer "service club," which happens to have the school's prettiest girl, Yukino Yukinoshita.
Crunchyroll streamed the first anime season as it aired in Japan last year. The light novels also received a video game adaptation and a tie-in original video anime last year. The novel series with illustrations by Ponkan8 topped the annual Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel is Amazing!) rankings for 2013.
