The official website for La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky, the television anime adaptation of the La Cordo d'Oro 3 female-oriented dating simulation game began streaming a new promotional video for the series on Friday. The video features the anime's opening theme, “WINGS TO FLY” by Jun Fukuyama, Katsuyuki Konishi, Kentarou Itou, Kishô Taniyama and Satoshi Hino, and also has narration by Jun Fukuyama as his character Kyōya Kisaragi.
Kyōya says that he was forced by his relatives to go to a concert in Yokohama with his childhood friend Kanade. However, he finds out that they both must transfer to a school there. All of the students work their hardest during the summer to prepare for a national competition.
The anime adapts Koei Tecmo Games' Kin-iro no Corda 3 (La Corda D'Oro 3) dating simulation. The game follows a girl named Kanade and her relationships with the orchestra members and the other boys at her school.
The game franchise already inspired a television anime series in 2006, and a television special sequel, La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~, aired in spring of 2009. Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on DVD in North America, and Crunchyroll streamed both anime. Kure also adapted the first Kin-iro no Corda game into a manga, and Viz Media published the 17th and final volume of the original La Corda D'Oro manga in North America last May.
The series will premiere on April 5 in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it broadcasts in Japan.
