The official website for Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Gachinko! Gyakushū no Robo Tō-chan (Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Fight! Robo-Dad's Counterattack), this year's Crayon Shin-chan film, began streaming the trailer on Friday. The trailer features Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's theme song, "Family Party."
The trailer introduces the film's premise. In the kindergartner "Shin-chan's" 22nd movie, his father goes for a massage to fix his sprained back. However, he returns home as a robot that can cook and clean and be operated by a remote control. However, the form contains a secret that's involved in a big conspiracy of restless Japanese dads who are upset that their positions in their households have become weak. The anime will feature the film series' first "battle of dads."
Actress Emi Takei (live-action Rurouni Kenshin's Kaoru) will guest star in the film in her first voice-acting role. Takei will play Teruyo Dandanbara, a police woman who causes trouble at the station with her eagerness to become a detective. Entertainment celebrity Crocket will guest-star as Hakase Gamma, a world-famous robotics expert. This is Crocket's second time playing a character in a Shin-chan film.
Wataru Takahashi, a unit director of several previous Crayon Shin-chan films, is helming this new film. Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill) wrote the screenplay. The film will premiere in theaters on April 19, and the CD single for the theme song will go on sale on April 16.
