One Piece Manga #73 Gets 4-Million Print Run
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Japanese publisher Shueisha has produced four million copies for the first printing of the 73rd volume of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece pirate manga — the 10th consecutive volume to get a print run of four million or higher. The volume shipped in Japan on Tuesday.
The 70th, 69th, and 68th volume also received first printings of four million copies when they shipped in Japan last year. The 67th volume set a manga record for the most copies in its first printing with 4.05 million copies. The previous two volumes matched but did not beat the former record of 4 million copies set by volume 64 in 2011.
Over 345 million copies of the entire manga series have been printed worldwide and has sold 130 million copies since 2009. One Piece has had the highest number of copies printed of any Shueisha manga series in Japan.
