Story of man & woman, living together & connected by food, began in 2009
The wraparound jacket band on the eighth compiled volume of Yumio Kobayashi's Nigakute Amai (Bittersweet) manga announced on Friday that a live-action adaptation of the manga is in the works.
The original manga centers on Maki, a woman around 30 years old who is successful in her career and beautiful. She ends up living under the same roof as Nagisa, a male art teacher at an all-boys school. While Maki has little luck with men and is bad at cooking, Nagisa is fairly uninterested in dating and is a very good chef. Love blossoms between the two as they experience new things through food.
Kobayashi began the manga in 2009, and it runs in Mag Garden's Eden magazine.
