Koihime Musō's Arcade Fighting Game Previewed in Video
posted on by Egan Loo
Sega began streaming a movie on Monday for Koihime Enbu, the arcade fighting game with characters from the Koihime Musō franchise. The movie debuted at this past weekend's Japan Amusement Expo 2014.
The game will have a story by the staff of the anime version of Koihime Musō.
The 2008 Koihime†Musō anime adapted BaseSon's Koihime†Musō: Doki—Otome Darake no Sangokushi ENGI adult adventure game for personal computers. The franchise re-imagines the classic Chinese historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sangokushi) as a "moe (fiery), moe (preciously cute) action comedy" with an almost all-female cast. The same Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel also inspired KOEI's game franchise of the same name, KOEI's Dynasty Warriors (Shin Sangoku Musō) spinoffs, and dozens of anime and manga of varying historical accuracy.
There have since been two television anime series based on the BaseSon's Shin Koihime†Musō: Otome Ryōran Sangokushi Engi adult adventure game for personal computers. Both Koihime†Musō and Shin Koihime Musō inspired video spinoff episodes.
Crunchyroll streamed much of the anime adaptations, and Sentai Filmworks released them on home video.
