Legendary Pokémon Palkia Cameos in Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai announced on Nintendo's Miiverse community that legendary Pokémon Palkia will make an appearance in the upcoming Wii U/3DS game. Sakurai wrote:
Pic of the day. Palkia appeared in the Spear Pillar stage of the previous game…but now it's coming out of a Poké Ball?! Here's Palkia's signature move, Spacial Rend!
The Super Smash Bros. games have featured in-game Pokéball items that can be used to randomly summon Pokémon to attack opponents. The screenshot also shows Pokémon Lucario returning as a playable character from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Other previous playable Pokémon characters include Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Pichu, Pikachu, and the Pokémon Trainer (who controlled Squirtle, Ivysaur, or Charizard).
Nintendo previously confirmed Princess Zelda will be returning as a playable character.
Both versions of the game are scheduled to be released sometime this year.
