New Baki Martial Arts Manga Begins in March

This year's ninth issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine is announcing on Thursday that a new series of Keisuke Itagaki's Baki manga will begin in the 16th issue, which is scheduled for March 20. The magazine says that March 20 is also the birthday of a very important person. Itagaki announced plans to resume the series last month.
Itagaki's original Baki The Grappler martial arts manga ran in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine from 1991 to 1999. Hanma Baki ran in the same magazine from 2005 to 2012. Baki The Grappler has received several manga sequels and spinoffs, two television anime adaptations, and an original video anime.
Yukinao Yamauchi (Baki Gaiden - Scarface) launched Baki Gaiden: Kizuzura, a Baki The Grappler spinoff, in the inaugural issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine lin 2012. Still another spinoff, Baki Gaiden: Kenjin, debuted in Champion RED last year, but it went on hiatus last month.
