Idolm@ster Movie Debuts at #5 With 150 Million Yen

THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukōgawa e! (The IDOLM@STER Movie: To the Glittering Other Side!) opened on Saturday in 39 theaters and ranked #5 at the weekend box office in Japan. It sold 81,262 tickets for 149,876,900 yen (about US$1.46 million)
Among other films that came from late-night television anime, Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings opened on 43 screens with 139 million yen, on its way to a final total of over 500 million yen (US$5 million) in 2012. Similarly, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A's opened on 50 screens with 123 million yen earlier that same year, and it also eventually earned over 500 million yen.
