Witch Craft Works Manga to Bundle Original Anime DVD
posted on by Egan Loo
The official blog for the Witch Craft Works television anime announced on Sunday that Ryū Mizunagi's seventh manga volume will bundle a DVD on July 7. According to Kodansha, the original anime DVD will be about 25 minutes long.
The story centers around Honoka Takamiya, a boy whose classmate Ayaka Kagari is talented in sports, excels in classes, and is attractive on top of everything. She also happens to be most powerful witch on earth. Her purpose in life is to protect Takamiya at all costs.
Mizunagi launched the manga in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in 2010, and Kodansha published the sixth compiled volume in November. Random House, the distributor for the North American manga publisher Vertical, lists the first volume on September 30, but Vertical told ANN on Monday that it could not confirm or deny any plans to release the series.
The manga is inspiring a television anime series from J.C. Staff that premiered in Japan on January 5. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
