This year's fourth issue of Shueisha's Grand Jump magazine is announcing on Wednesday that a live-action television adaptation of Tomohiro Yokomaku and Shūji Takeya's Smoking Gun - Minkan Kasōken Chōsa'in Nagareda Midori (Smoking Gun – Civilian Forensic Research Investigator Midori Nagareda) manga has been green-lit. The drama will begin airing on Fuji TV and its affiliates in April, and the cast and other information will be announced in future issues of Grand Jump.
The “science and human” mystery revolves around Midori Nagareda, a forensic scientist. In his work, he relieves doubts of the suspicious, and proves the innocence of the suspected. The company he works for “sells the truth.”
The manga began with the launch of Grand Jump in 2012, with Yokomaku (a television suspense scriptwriter) writing the story and Takeya handling the art. Shueisha will ship both the fifth and sixth compiled volumes simultaneously in March.
