The February issue of Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine is revealing more details on Wednesday for this year's Pocket Monster XY: Hakai no Mayu (Pokémon XY: Cocoon of Destruction) film. The film is slated to open in Japan on July 19.
The magazine notes that film will revolve around a "magnificent battle" between Yveltal and Xerneas, and hints that the film's title, "Cocoon of Destruction," is a reference to Yveltal. The magazine also notes that the film will include many legendary and mythical Pokémon.
Coro Coro Comics also reveals that fans will be able to vote for the present that will be included with advanced ticket purchases by choosing from one of the four Pokémon that will be featured in the film's accompanying "Pikachu, Kore Nanno Kagi?" (Pikachu, What's This Key For?) anime short: Jirachi, Victini, Manaphy, and Darkrai.
The first Pokémon XY film will also feature Mega Evolution just like the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y 3DS games. Also appearing in the new adventures in the Kalos region are Satoshi (Ash), Citron (Clemont), Eureka (Bonnie), and Serena.
Director Kunihiko Yuyama is returning to adapt Satoshi Tajiri's Pokémon games as he has done for most of the films in the franchise.

Cartoon Network then showed two episodes from Pokémon the Series: XY in the United States on October 19, right after the American premiere of lasts year's Pokémon film, Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened (Gekijōban Pocket Monster Best Wishes! Shinsoku no Genosekuto: Myuutsū Kakusei). Pokémon the Series: XY will air on Cartoon Network weekly starting on January 18.
