Mako-chan no Lip Cream Comedy Manga Gets Anime Promo Video
posted on by Egan Loo
Production on an animated promotional video for Namie Odama's gag comedy manga Mako-chan no Lip Cream has been green-lit. The February issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine made the announcement on Thursday.
The manga's story centers around a "mysterious lip cream" that can transform you into anything. The witch Zaiaa was cursed for using the lip cream too much, and it ends up in the hands of an ordinary elementary school girl named Mako-chan.
Odama herself is handling the storyboards, key animation frames, and direction for the promotional video, while Hiroaki Magari (Majokko Tsukune-chan, Mikosuri Han-Gekijō) is responsible for the actual animation. Gariben Papillon is performing the theme song "Kikensei Girl" (Dangerous Girl). The 95-second video will have the theme of "passion."
Odama launched the manga in Monthly Shōnen Sirius in 2007, and Kodansha will publish the 10th book volume on February 7. This upcoming volume will offer details on how people can watch the anime video.
