Kadokawa began accepting pre-orders this week for a limited-edition seventh volume of Mari Matsuzawa's Saikin, Imōto no Yōsu ga Chotto Okashiin Da Ga. (Recently, my sister is unusual. or ImoCho.) manga that will bundle an original anime Blu-ray Disc. In addition to the unaired episode, the limited edition will also come with a variant cover and a tall case with a picture label to contain both the Blu-ray and the manga volume. Kadokawa describes the "forbidden" episode as one so risque that it could not be aired on television.
The limited edition of the seventh volume will ship in Japan on April 14, and will cost 4,536 yen (US$45).
The story revolves around a girl named Mitsuki Kanzaki (played by Chinami Hashimoto), who lives with her step-brother Yūya (Junji Majima) after her mother remarries. One day, Mitsuki is possessed by the self-proclaimed spirit of a young girl, Hiyori Kotobuki (Yui Ogura). Hiyori (in Mitsuki's body) must fall in love with Yūya to move towards the "Gates of Heaven."
Hisako Kanemoto (Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet's Amy, Squid Girl's title character) also stars as Yukina Kiritani, Yūya's childhood friend.
The television anime adaptation will premiere on January 4, and a live-action film adaptation of the manga will open next spring.
Matsuzawa's other works include Hinadori Girl, Inukami!, and Sanbun no Ichi. The original Inukami! light novel also inspired an anime, and Seven Seas published the manga in North America.
