The first 2014 issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine announced on Monday that the screen adaptation of Jun Watanabe's crime suspense manga Montage is a television drama special. The special will air on Fuji TV.
Watanabe's original manga begins when a 10-year-old boy named Yamato and his friend Miku find a dying man in an alley. The man tells them that Yamato's father was involved in the great unsolved "300-Million-Yen Bank Robbery" in 1968. The children agree to keep the man's words a secret. Yamato's father is found dead soon after the incident. Years later, Yamato still has doubts about his father's murder, which was ruled as suicide. Yamato decides to search for the truth about his father's life and death.
The drama mystery manga debuted in the magazine in June 2010, and the 14th compiled book volume will ship on December 10.
Watanabe's other manga include RRR and Emblem Take 2.
