posted on by Egan Loo
Tecmo KOEI announced at its Sengoku Musou 10th Anniversary Presentation event on Friday that a television anime adaptation of its Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warriors) games has been green-lit. The Sengoku Musou SP: Sanada no Shou (Samurai Warriors Special: Sanada's Chapter) anime will premiere this March.
According to the presentation, the anime will cover the Siege of Ueda Castle and will feature these characters (with the games' voice cast):
Daisuke Ono as Nobuyuki Sanada
Masaya Takatsuka as Kanetsugu Naoe and Eiji Takemoto as Mitsunari Ishida
Yūko Nagashima as Kunoichi, Makiko Ohmoto as Inahime (Ina), Akio Ohtsuka as Tadakatsu Honda, Jouji Nakata as Ieyasu Tokugawa
(Historical Japanese names are presented here with family names last, as in the English releases of the games.)
A Blu-ray Disc of the anime will also be bundled in the 9,800-yen (about US$98) premium box for the PlayStation 3 game Sengoku Musou 4 (Samurai Warriors 4) when it ships (after a delay) on March 20, 2014. There will also be a 12,800-yen (US$128) "Sengoku Musou 4 Treasure Box" with the game, the anime, an original soundtrack CD, a character design collection, and 15 exclusive postcards. The game's official website had accidentally posted an image that listed an "Anime Box" on Thursday, but it was removed later in the day.
