Record of Lodoss War: The Grey Witch Gets New Manga
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The preview for the January 2014 issue of Kadokawa's game and manga magazine Comptiq announced that the Record of Lodoss War: The Grey Witch story is getting a new manga series. Tomomasa Takuma (Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally, Code Geass: Renya of the Darkness, Kurogane Communication) is starting the series on December 10.
Yoshihiko Ochi adapted Ryo Mizuno's original story and Yutaka Izubuchi's original illustrations in an earlier manga series. Central Park Media's CPM Manga imprint published that earlier manga in North America. CPM describes the story:
Parn, the strong-headed fighter. Deedlit, the young and haughty elf. Ghim, the grizzled Dwarf. Etoh, the young priest. Slayn, the sorcerer. And Woodchuck, the thief. These six must again unite as the evil of the Grey Witch permeates all of Lodoss Island!
Mizuno's original Record of Lodoss War stories inspired the 1990 Record of Lodoss War video anime series and the 1998 Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight television anime sequel. Both fantasy titles were previously licensed and released in North America by Central Park Media.
The same preview for the January issue reports that a Lucky Star spinoff project has been green-lit.
