This year's 51st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced this month that Yūsuke Murata (Eyeshield 21) and ONE's One-Punch Man manga will have more than 2 million copies in print as of the fifth volume, which ships on December 4.
The series revolves around the titular super hero who has trained so hard that his hair has fallen out, and who can overcome any enemy with one punch. However, because he is so strong, he has become bored and frustrated with winning all his battles so easily.
The series adapts ONE's original web manga of the same name. The manga is currently running on Shueisha's free Tonari no Young Jump spinoff website.
One-Punch Man is currently serialized in Viz Media's English-language digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump.
A special chapter of One-Punch Man will run in Weekly Shonen Jump's Japanese edition on Monday. Viz Media will also publish the English-language edition of the special chapter in its digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday.
Update: The official Twitter account for the Tonari no Young Jump website reported on November 15 that all of the volumes of the manga have received major additional printings. The first volume now has over 500,000 copies, and the entire series now has over 2.2 million copies.
