Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Malta's Mysterious Keys 3DS Remake Coming in February

Square Enix announced on Tuesday that the Nintendo 3DS remake of its 2001 Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Malta's Mysterious Keys (released in North America as Dragon Warrior Monsters 2) Gameboy Color game will be released in Japan on February 6, 2014 under the title of Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru to Luca no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi (Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru & Luca's Wonderful Mysterious Keys). The game will retail for the price of 5,490 yen (about US$56).
In addition announcing the game and its release date, Square Enix also announced that it will release a “Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru to Luca no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi Special Pack” that will bundle a limited-edition Nintendo 3DS with designs of various monsters from the series on the system (seen at right). The pack will retail for 24,390 yen (about US$245). The Square Enix e-Store is also offering a pack containing the game and figures of Iru and Luca. The set will retail for 6,990 yen (about US$61), and will be available in limited quantities. Pre-orders are available on the e-store now, and Dengeki Online has more screenshots for the game on their website.
Square Enix registered a trademark for "Iru to Ruka no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi" (Iru and Luca's Wonderful Mysterious Keys) in Japan on March 22. The company released a remake of first Dragon Quest Monsters game for Nintendo 3DS last year.
